Jewels have different uses: some upgrade an item's level, others add options or serve as recipe ingredients. Bless, Soul, Life and Chaos are not interchangeable, even though they often appear together in the economy.
Before applying a jewel, check the compatible item and the operation's result. Direct upgrading and combining at Chaos Goblin are different processes with their own rules and risks.
